New audio tour explores sights and sounds of Spinnaker Tower’s 23-mile view
Visitors to Spinnaker Tower can embark on an immersive journey through Portsmouth’s rich history and breathtaking views with a free guided audio tour, making each visit even more memorable.
Eight bite-sized audio clips bring the view to life. Guests can simply walk up and use their phone to scan one of the QR codes located on the view deck, to hear more about the Tower itself, the fascinating history of Portsmouth or the current activities taking place across the 23-miles of coastline.
100 metres up on View Deck 1, guests can dive into the Dockyard’s fascinating past and discover the tales behind the Semaphore Tower, HMS Warrior, HMS Victory, and the legendary Mary Rose.
Uncover stories of Portsmouth’s first Roman settlement, the vibrant Gosport Marina, the Royal Navy Submarine Museum, and much more, including Southsea Castle and the charming old town of Portsmouth.
Climb up to the open-air Sky Garden to learn all about the incredible construction of the iconic Spinnaker Tower. It’s the perfect spot to relax and let imagination soar as high as the tower itself.
We aim to make every visit truly unforgettable for our guests, and while the views themselves give guests that unforgettable ‘wow’ moment, these audio stories now offer guests the chance to discover a deeper understanding of some of the fascinating and lesser-known facts about the spectacular 23-mile view across the Solent. Our new audio tour perfectly complements our existing i-VIEW touchscreens, allowing guests to both read and listen to stories about the many points of interest in the everchanging view. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a returning guest, you’re sure to learn something new.
Each audio clip ranges from three to seven minutes, and access to the audio tour is included with all-day admission tickets, allowing visitors unlimited entry throughout the day. This Summer guests can now benefit from the even bigger online booking discount, making a saving of £5 on every visit! Guests can now experience the views, the ‘wows’, and now the stories for just £13pp by booking up to the day before.
