Your Tower Experience

Your Spinnaker Tower experience starts with a brief introduction to the Sail of The Solent.  Then head up in our high-speed lift which travels at 4 metres per second. In just 28 seconds, you’re stepping onto the viewing decks where Portsmouth, the waterfront city, is showcased in all its glory.

The Historic Dockyard, HMS Victory and Warrior can be seen alongside today’s world-class Naval fleet – all against the stunning backdrop of the Solent, the South Downs and the rolling landscape of the Isle of Wight. The views change with the time of day, the seasons and the weather, with warships and cruise liners heading in and out of port, events taking place across the city and harbour, making no two visits the same.

Brave the Heights

Are you brave enough to venture across our glass Sky Walk?! Located in the middle of view deck 1,100 100 metres above the harbour, it is made of 3 layers of glass totalling just 60mm in depth, but is strong enough to hold a total weight of 288 stone – the equivalent of 2 black rhinos! Looking down through the glass gives you a whole new perspective on the harbour below. Feel free to walk, jump or even dance across!

Fresh Air & Sky Gardens

Continue up into the Sky Garden, our open air viewing deck. Feel the sea breeze on your face, soak up the panoramic views - with the perfect vantage point for photos or to simply marvel at the view. Look up, you might even catch a glimpse of our resident owl!
